Bone Putty

Characteristics:   Putty is a bonepaste with at least 80% micronized heterologous bone (granulometry 300 um) and collagen gel (Gel O).

It is made with an exclusive process that provides the product with exceptional malleability and plasticity, makiing it easy to apply in sockets and peri-implant defects with walls.

Thanks to its collagen component, the prodcut facilitates blood clotting and the subsequent invasion of repairing and regenerative of cells.

Successful grafting needs complete stability of the biomaterial:  for this reason Putty must be used only in cavities able to firmly contain it.  Therefore, Putty must not be grafted in two wall defects or in lateral access sinus lift procedures.

Handling:  apply the product and adapt it to defect morphology without compresson; any non stable residue must be removed before soft tissue suture.

Clinical applications: Implantology: versatile alveolar filler to preserve crestal volume and in immediate post-extractive implants where it facilitates primary stableness; ideal for the treatment of periimplantitis and in split crests.  In crestal access sinus lift, Putty can be used in association with Gen-Os (ratio 1 part Putty, 3 parts Gen-Os) to facilitate insertion.

Oral surgery:  ideal filler for after dental extractions, granulomas, dentigenous cysts.

Ridge Split Clinical Series Using Putty

Thin edentulous ridge with cuts made.

Ridge split procedure was performed securing the opening with a 2mm screw.

Osteo-Biol Putty

The ridge split was approxinmately 7mm. This was filled with Osteo-Biol Putty before an Evolution membrane was placed over the area.

A transposition flap was performed and the site closed with a tension free series of simple interrupted Vicryl sutures.

View of prepared bony ridge

4 months post ridge split the site was uncovered in preparation for implant placement.

The screw was removed, and a drill guidance system was used to place a 4mm wide platform Branemark implant .

Note the generous volume of bone and the replacement of the Putty with natural bone in the grafted area.

Implant site 2 weeks post operative.

It is envisaged that Stage II surgery will occur after 4 months.
